General Info

  • "As a large public institution, UW-Stevens Point will be the site of multiple public events at the same time as the Wisconsin Science Olympiad activities. The public access and active construction at UWSP require that assigned chaperones or parents/guardians accompany minors during all activities and are responsible for their supervision, custodial care, and safety."

Friday STEM, April 12th 2024

  • Friday STEM: See the following link for a description of all activities that are available that will showcase what UWSP has to offer. Many of them do not have a max capacity and do not require sign-up. Events requiring sign-up are added into Avogadro (all listed with a max capacity and the scavenger hunt). ONLY SIGN UP FOR ACTIVITIES YOU WILL ATTEND. If there is not enough interest for the sign-up activities they will be dropped. There is even a pedal bike tour!

  • Trial event: Duct Tape Challenge

    • Event Rules

    • Self-schedule sign-up is available in Avogadro.

    • Event Location - Collins Classroom Center 303.

    • Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams in each division.

  • Opening Ceremony will include a parade of schools!

    • Report to MCCH Quandt by 3:45 to participate in the parade of schools.

Merchandise - Preorder and Booth Setup

  • Please visit the link above to view the products that are available. They can be preordered and custom made with the photo or design of your choosing!

  • The merchandise booth will be setup on tournament day (location TBD).

Tournament Information

  • Flight dimensions: 90’x100’x22’-8”.

    • Practice time for flight: 6:30-8:00am Saturday April 13th.

  • Air Trajectory ceiling height: The ceiling is pitched and ranges from 25’ - 28’4” within the competition area.

Competitive Tournament Notes for Division B and C

Tournament Awards: Individual medals will be provided for the top 6 places in each event. Exhibition (Junior Varsity) and Audit Teams will be provided duplicate place medals and pins. The top 6 Teams will be awarded Team trophies and coaches plaques.

Exhibition (Junior Varsity) Team: These Teams can be thought of as an "Open" Team. The individuals on these Teams are eligible for awards, but the Team score is not relevant. These Teams can have any combination and numbers of students at any grade level at a Team’s school.  Junior Varsity Teams will sign-up for "sign-up" events after the Varsity Team.

Multiple Teams from Schools Scheduling Note: All Teams from a school must compete in the same time-slot for events, with the exception of the following events:

Students may participate on only one team.

Selection of Events: Each Team must balance their chosen 23 events from the 5 Science Olympiad categories. Each Team must choose a minimum of 3 events from each category to reach a total of 23 events. 

Auditing of Events: Teams may choose to Audit events in which they are not competing.  These events are eligible for duplicate medals. Students beyond the standard Team of 15 may participate in Audit events.
